March 2008: As part of its public commitment to reach over 100 million children in the US with free dental screenings and oral health education by 2010, Colgate-Palmolive partnered with the Greater Bay Area Dental Society to bring its first ever “Bright Smiles Comedy Showcase” to 300 San Francisco and Oakland elementary school children. The event, which featured the LaughingStock Comedy Company, was hosted by Critics’ Choice Award Winner and “Hairspray” star, Nikki Blonsky. The program included music, costumed characters and the LaughingStock Comedy Company performing humorous interactive sketches with Blonsky and the students to drive home the importance of maintaining good oral health habits.
