i got all 4 of my impacted wisdom teeth removed on july 2, 2009. i had a good experience. it didn’t hurt. no major bleeding. i only took 2 hydrocodone after the surgery and of course the antibiotic for a week. my main problem was the swelling which went down in about 4 days.
While being at my favorite dentist’s place we figured that filming the extraction of a wisdom tooth would be fun. I didn’t have any serious post-extraction problems, i am glad i got rid of the tooth!
lingual split technique is the easiest, fastest and least traumatic technique of third molar removal. Most of the impacted teeth can be extracted within 5 minutes.Distolingual wall of the socket is splited and the tooth is elevated lingually.
I don’t think I actually had a cavity and now I think the dentist ruined my tooth. It hurts every time I eat or drink something cold. I did not have ANY problems before I went to the dentist. And actually, I’m quite thankful they aren’t putting metal fillings in anyone any more since those are apparently highly toxic. The whole thing has been one bad situation I desperately wish I could erase. The dentist’s solution is for me to have a root canal. Really? I had no mouth pain or any issues with my teeth when I came into your office, you tell me I have a small cavity, you “fix” it by giving me a filling, and now you apparently drilled too much into my tooth and you want to just go ahead and kill it by removing the root system, thus leaving me with a dead tooth in my mouth. This can’t be undone. Life Without My Wife www.lifewithoutmywife.com

Cavities can affect the enamel and the dentin of the tooth. Regular dental exams can uncover cavities. If the damage is advanced you may have pain, especially after eating/drinking sweet, hot or cold things, or visible pits/holes in the tooth may be seen. Cavities can be treated in many ways. If the damage isn’t extensive, a dentist may drill into the tooth to remove the decay and fill it with fillings. Types of fillings: Gold: Advantages- Durable, strong, and aesthetically pleasing. Disadvantages- Expense, additional office visits, and may cause Galvanic shock. Silver: Advantages- Durable, strong, and relatively inexpensive.
